This is a progressive practice with a very clear focus on its goals, strategy and points of difference. The management have their roots in the Big 4 firms. Clients are of a quality nature and are generally larger with strong growth potential. They are selective of who they sign up and promote quality rather than quantity. This is a firm that adopt more of a business partnering approach, focussing on a companies internal accounting function, governance and management reporting information and their wider business issues.

Due to a long term resignation, an opening has come about for a strong bas accountant that can pick up the compliance requirements for some of the client managers. Most of the added value work is farmed off to the client managers but this role is focussing on the smaller pool of SME clients, $1M - $10M in revenue with group structures. The role involves account compilation, reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of account coding, analytical work, raising issues and giving recommendations to managers.

The type of person we are looking for should have over 4 years of BAS experience. It will NOT suit an ambitious accountant that is looking for progression as at this stage the desire to perform more complex work and promotion will be limited. Your initial experience could lie in one of the mid/2nd tier firms initially. CA is not essential but rather your familiarity with BAS compliance accounting, financial reporting and tax. Communication must be perfect and some experience with APS ideal.
