Recruitment News: Beyond’s Biggest Loser

Recruitment News Article Series: We are quite health conscious here at Beyond Recruitment and there is nothing we like more than a bit of ‘healthy’ competition which is why there was such a huge response from the Wellington office to the annual Biggest Loser competition this year.

With only five weeks to go out of the 13 week cycle, the competition is really starting to heat up. Since week three Dave Calder shot out into the lead with a huge weight loss and has managed to hold his lead ever since. But he is getting some stiff competition, especially from Kylie Smeaton, who is slowly but surely threatening to steal his thunder.

Overall, the total combined weight loss at this point has reached 69.2 kilograms. So realistically, out of all of the 26 competitors, we have lost the weight of an average sized person between us. And how are we achieving this? It’s not rocket science actually, it’s all about better food choices, regular exercise, and a good stint without the ‘dreaded’ carbs; which isn’t, let’s face it, easy or very pleasant but is extremely effective for weight loss.

Office morning teas in our recruitment office have been revamped to include a lot more healthy choices such as celery sticks, baby carrots and cucumber slices, hummus dips and rice crackers. Of course there are still the odd savoury and sausage roll knocking about to tempt and entice everyone in the competition but for the most part we are strong willed and in control.

All up there is over $300.00 in the kitty as a prize for the winner which is made up from a fee paid on entry into the competition by all competitors. This is a tidy little sum that will be well earned by whoever works hard enough to take the title of Beyond’s Biggest Loser. Good health and good luck to all!
