The Accounting Finance and Financial Services jobs market in NZ has been one of the more changeable over the last 3 years. We are currently experiencing strong renewed demand for Accounting Jobs and Finance Jobs including Financial Services-skilled talent at all levels however there has been a subtle shift in terms of what type of work-seeker are securing the best NZ jobs and assignments.

Increasingly, organisations are looking for Accounting and Finance specialists to be an enabler for the organisation. This means that rather than measuring and accounting financial performance in a reactive, traditional way, organisations are increasingly seeking insight from “the numbers” as a way to identify opportunities such as innovation or diversification. Therefore, if you are searching for accounting jobs or finance jobs, you need demonstrate an understanding of (or keen willingness to understand) the organisations business drivers. This means that employers are placing more emphasis on personality, communication skills and entrepreneurial characteristics when filling accounting roles than perhaps they did in the past.

This role is a general BAS role reporting to one of the Partners. The thrust of the role is developmental taking charge for the completion of a wide selection of accounts, plus taking control of client's tax obligations. Attending NZICA courses and presenting feedback to staff is also part and parcel of the role as well. Progressively you will be given more challenging areas of work.

Requirements for this role are:

* 2 - 3 years of BAS experience ideally from a mid size firm and have
* Strong knowledge of tax including GST, FBT, Income and impact on SME's
* Attention to detail
* Efficiency in delivery of work
* Confident with facing clients
* Strong English language skills
* PCE1 passed
* Ability to think outside square

Salary $50K - $60K
