Our consultant – Ross Henderson M Phil (Hons), BA (Hons), Dip Bus Stud, Dip Tchg (Dist.)

Biography:

Ross’s interest in people originated with a degree specialising in Trade and Labour history and the growth and development of the Union Movement. A Diploma in Teaching (Distinction) and time secondary teaching allowed Ross to hone his training and presentation skills. He then returned to University to complete a higher degree in History.

Ross joined a major recruitment company as a consultant in 1985 and subsequently joined international management consultancy KPMG Peat Marwick in 1986 as a Human Resources consultant. Over the following six years Ross worked extensively in the areas of recruitment, occupational assessment, training and development, outplacement, remuneration and organisational development for clients ranging in size up to 75000 employees both in New Zealand and London.

During this time Ross completed a Diploma in Business Studies specialising in training and development, followed by a Masters Degree with Honours in Management Studies and Labour Relations.

Ross left KPMG as a Senior Human Resources Consultant to work with Ramset Fasteners as the manager responsible for Human Resources and Quality. Later he was head hunted to join Mico Wakefiled as their inaugural National HR Manager. Ross set up his own management consulting business in 1996. Since then he has specialised in dealing with difficult employment relations problems, mediation and Employment Relations Authority work.

Ross’s career experience has largely been focused on health, education, retail, manufacturing and professional and financial services sectors in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
