Where I’m From: I grew up in Somerset in the South-west of England before heading off to University in Manchester. Since then I have lived and worked in London, Sydney, Singapore and moved to Auckland in early 2017.
My Professional Background: I have worked in the recruitment industry for the past 20 years, starting my career when the rolodex and fax machine were King. I have recruited across a range of industries and countries with a focus on mid-to-senior level roles in the finance and corporate governance markets.
Why I’m Passionate About my role at Beyond Recruitment: My role at Beyond is fast-paced, delivery-focused and allows me to interact with hiring managers and job seekers across a wide range of interesting professional disciplines.
What not many people know about me: After a few sedentary years I have a goal to run my first marathon in 2020. Having now committed that to writing I am hoping this will hold me to some kind of account!
What I love about New Zealand: My first visit to New Zealand was back in 2003 and I have returned fairly often over the years before moving here permanently 3 years ago. I have witnessed a huge amount of growth and change during that time and I believe the next 10 years will bring more of the same. It’ll sound fairly cliched but New Zealand is a land of many contrasts with unspoilt nature on your doorstep and every benefit of a tolerant, open and multi-cultural society. We are spoilt for choice when it comes to food options, superb wine and craft beer, weekend-escape destinations, sporting and cultural events.
