The LINZ Crown Property Centre of Expertise provides centralised property management, acquisition and disposal services for client agencies across the government sector, managing over 15,000 properties covering 1.8 million hectares. It also regulates the purchase and disposal of land by all Crown Agencies and is involved in the settlement of historical Treaty claims.
As both a landholding agency and as a regulator of Crown property activities LINZ is a central part of the Treaty settlement. This new role is an opportunity to develop technical property skills and help shape durable processes around Treaty settlements and other Crown property activities.
As Advisor Crown Property Regulatory (Treaty), you will work with other agencies to build a common understanding of Crown property, particularly settlement redress such as the right of first refusal. This includes providing technical expertise and leading thinking on Crown property matters.
You will also be supporting LINZ's contribution to the Government's Treaty settlement programme, including managing our relationships with other relevant agencies, such as the Office of Treaty Settlements.
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Understanding of the Treaty settlement process and/or the Crown property sector
- Solid analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong relationship building skills and customer focus
- Ability to coordinate a range of work across an organisation
