* large, fast paced, leading edge IT site - one of NZ's Best Places to Work
* a unique chance to use your technical .NET design knowledge and work closely with solutions architects to determine enhancement and delivery options

This organisation is one of THE best places in New Zealand to work - end of story.

It is a large, complex, enterprise scale IT applications site. They offer you a unique opportunity to work alongside other highly knowledgeable development professionals.

The business is growing fast. As a result, so is the IT development team.

You will be a member of a team of 14 IT professionals. The team is made up of .NET developers, business analysts and test analyst professionals.

Of these, 2 are .NET developers, and you would be the team mentor for those 2, less experienced .NET developers.

OK, let's get this straight from the start. This ISN'T a pure senior developer role. So if you are looking for something that will let you stay heavily involved with hands-on coding and development, this one won't be right for you.

Instead, the emphasis is on being the .NET design technical lead for this enterprise scale applications delivery team. That means you will be working closely with the IT architecture team as well as your own Development Team Manager to determine what design enhancements can be designed to assist with the increasing number of systems integration projects that are pending.

The work is project based, and you would be working on projects on an end-to-end basis. You might find yourself working on one large project at one time, or maybe on several smaller projects simultaneously.

The majority of the work will be focused on solutions architecture activities around developing the .NET road map. Other activities would involve working with the IT development team in relation to devising software design solutions that will ensure the existing systems are as efficient, fast and effective as possible.

It is also VERY important that you are able to engage with non-IT business users in a helpful and supportive fashion. You need to be able to understand their non-IT speak and their business focused requirements and then transfer those needs into high quality technical requirements for the development team.

They are definitely looking for someone who has had a career path in the enterprise scale .NET development arena, and who is keen to make their next career step one that is heading in the design/architecture and team leadership direction.

The organisation is widely known for being an active promoter of people who demonstrate ability, enthusiasm and great people skills.
