This government agency manages one of the largest property portfolios in New Zealand. We have a great opportunity for an experienced technical and engineering professional to join this team and make an important contribution to its success.

In this role you will be responsible for:

- Leading and/or assisting with the development and maintenance of various technical guidance for building design
- Lead or assist with the resolution of technical and regulatory issues
- Building the business capability of managers, property advisors, and external stakeholders in understanding the technical guidelines and how to implement them to achieve good design outcomes
- Liaising with relevant authorities and other stakeholders about the approach to seismic assessment of buildings

To be successful you will have the following skills and experience:

- A background in property and/or asset management in the public or private sector
- A sound understanding of relevant legal frameworks and policy requirements for engineering and design of buildings
- Experienced in engaging with councils and a range of consultants, including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and project managers
- Good communication and written skills
- A relevant building qualification is desirable
