This up and coming commercial construction company has a strong reputation for delivering projects on time and on budget with an outstanding commitment to client service delivery. They are led by innovative and youthful directors offering new ideas. They focus predominantly in the medium project space and are preferred suppliers for a number of larger clients, their project time frames are generally in the 4 month - 9 month region.

This opportunity represents a medium term option for the driven to take an equity stake in this business. They are looking for a driven and motivated commercially minded estimator or senior QS that is interested in becoming a part of this company's future, assisting with mapping out strategy, contributing to the profit targets and setting out overall direction. The current commercial director would like to step back and focus on other business related activities passing on many of his responsibilities.

Working with the commercial director, the key focus of the role is to assist in managing the tendering and estimating tasks of the construction process from start to completion, the role requires precision estimating understanding margins and quality tendering. Areas of responsibility include, analysing information for the preparation and presentation of tender projects, attending meetings, identifying opportunities for growth and evaluating the feasibility of these opportunities, process improvement, and ensuring quality.

The role would also have senior QS related responsibilities including scheduling/estimating, bills of quantities, cost management, subcontractor management, claims and variations.

This role requires you to work both autonomously and as part of team with accountability, it requires being responsive to change and achieving commercial profit targets.

In order to be a success in this position, you must have at least 10 years of estimating and/or quantity surveying experience as well as knowledge of the local market, understanding rates and commercial construction legislation. You are appropriately tertiary qualified.
