We are looking for an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to join a technology team working within a modern Agile and DevOps environment.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has strong test automation experience, enjoys solving complex problems and can help improve automation practices across the software delivery lifecycle. You will work closely with developers, testers and wider delivery teams to build effective automated testing solutions and ensure high-quality outcomes.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining automated test solutions across applications and services. You will also play an important role in identifying opportunities to increase automation coverage and selecting the right tools and approaches for different testing requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Design, develop and maintain robust automated test suites
• Deliver automation across UI, API and integration testing
• Work with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and REST Assured
• Identify what should be automated and where manual or exploratory testing provides greater value
• Explore and recommend tools and approaches that improve test automation capability
• Perform functional, non-functional and exploratory testing
• Support and test patch processing and releases
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Work with source control tools including Git and Bitbucket
• Collaborate closely with developers and delivery teams within an Agile environment
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, frameworks and practices

What We're Looking For

To be successful, you will ideally bring:

• Minimum 5 years' software testing experience, including at least 3 years in Test Automation
• Strong hands-on experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium and/or REST Assured
• Programming experience with at least one language such as Java, JavaScript, Python or Ruby
• Experience with API and web application test automation
• Experience testing patch processing and application releases
• Strong understanding of when and what to automate
• Experience with Git and Bitbucket
• Good knowledge of functional and non-functional testing principles
• Strong exploratory testing capability
• Working knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD practices, particularly Jenkins
• Experience working in Agile environments, including Scrum and/or Kanban
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• A proactive, self-managing approach with the ability to work independently
