The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the National Operations Manager, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Branch Manager to lead the Christchurch operation. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for driving operational performance, financial outcomes, customer experience, health and safety, and people leadership across a large-scale business. The role carries significant P&L accountability and leadership responsibility for both direct and indirect teams.
You will work closely with national leaders to deliver business improvement initiatives, maximise operational efficiency, lead change, and foster a high-performance culture that delivers exceptional outcomes for customers and employees alike.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading and inspiring a large operational workforce through managers and team leaders
- Driving branch profitability, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Full branch P&L responsibility, including revenue, labour, and cost management
- Delivering strategic business plans and operational improvement initiatives
- Developing high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and leadership
- Championing a strong health and safety culture
- Building strong relationships across national business functions
- Leading through change and ensuring operational excellence across all branch activities
- Managing key performance indicators and branch business
What We're Looking For
- Proven Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Transport Manager, Service Centre Manager, or Multi-Site Leadership experience
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with demonstrated P&L responsibility
- Experience leading large operational teams, ideally 50-200+ staff through leader-led structures
- Strong strategic planning and business improvement capability
- Exceptional stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Demonstrated success in driving operational performance and customer outcomes
- Experience managing change, employment relations, and organisational growth
- Confidence using data and reporting to drive decision-making
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style that inspires and motivates others

Working Hours
This is a full-time permanent position working primarily Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the operation, occasional weekend work may be required during peak seasonal periods.
