Our client provides essential products to the building & construction sector. They currently seek to employ a Branch Manager to lead their Whangarei based operation. As an experienced Operations/Branch Manager, you will ideally have experience within the building sector, with proven success as an effective leader. You will be ultimately responsible for managing the day-to-day running of the branch, including the planning of ongoing organisation, optimisation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day management of all onsite operations and staff
  • The efficient planning & production processes to ensure company and customer needs are met
  • Optimising the utilisation of all plant, machinery & equipment
  • Management of the onsite Health & Safety programme, including the recording of incidents
  • Assess, eliminate or minimise all identified safety or environmental risks to the business
  • Staff training, mentoring and coaching
  • Establish and manage a plant, machinery & equipment maintenance plan
  • Ensure a QA Checking programme is in place to meet company and customer quality standards
  • Assist with the development & implementation of the company’s strategic planning initiatives
  • Provide monthly Branch Status Reports

Skills & experience required:

  • Building and/or Construction experience – an advantage
  • Concrete experience (preferred)
  • Mechanical aptitude – preferred
  • Management/supervisory experience
  • P&L Management
  • Proven experience managing onsite H&S and Risk
  • Effective communication (oral & written)
  • A customer focus
  • Process Improvement focus
  • The ability to build strong professional relationships
