Job Description

  • Wellington based
  • 6 month fixed-term opportunity

About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to work at the centre of change and improvement within a complex environment. As a Business Advisor, you’ll play a key role in shaping how teams operate- designing practical systems, processes, and information flows that support effective decision-making and delivery.

Working with a high degree of autonomy, you’ll partner with leaders and teams to identify issues, embed new ways of working, and ensure improvements are sustained over time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, prioritise and deliver practical, scalable workflows and operating practices across a complex organisation
  • Improve reporting pathways, hand‑offs, escalation points and visibility for senior leaders
  • Support teams through change, and embed new processes and ways of working through trusted advice and influence
  • Navigate sensitive environments with sound judgement and professionalism
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by establishing best practice and coaching others in process management

What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement, transformation, or operational design and implementation within complex environments
  • Strong ability to analyse problems, think systemically, and develop practical, fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Proven experience working across teams and functions, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes without direct authority
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility at all levels of an organisation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience supporting change initiatives, including embedding new processes, structures, or operating models
  • Sound judgement and professionalism, particularly when working in sensitive or ambiguous environments
  • Understanding of information management and governance processes, including how information is captured, shared, and used for decision-making
  • A proactive mindset, with the initiative to take ownership and progress work in the absence of clear direction
  • Experience providing advice to senior leaders, contributing to decisions that shape organisational or system-level outcomes

If you’re motivated to improve systems, influence outcomes, and support meaningful change, we’d love to hear from you.
