About the role:
This intermediate level Business Analyst position is based in the PMO office of a high-profile government agency.
The PMO is made up of 6 Project Managers, 6 Business Analysts plus a range of project and admin support people.
They are seeking a Business Analyst who has experience of working on projects on an end-to-end project basis.
They are also wanting to to find someone who has had exposure to infrastructure-focused initiatives. For instance, projects you will be involved with relate to business analysis activities around Cloud-based IT infrastructure systems enhancements and upgrades.
You will need to have had experience of working with Waterfall methodology. They are moving steadily towards adopting Agile, so if you have some exposure to that, it would be great. However, the Waterfall experience is a 'must have'
You will be mentored by a Senior Business Analyst around day-to-day work activities.
This Business Analyst role also has a strong element of documentation in it. So your skills in documentation around business analysis need to be evident in your CV.
The other work you will be involved with includes business user requirements to develop functional requirements, being part of workshops, working as part of team to develop technical specifications and assisting the IT development team to implement a new system.

- Background of working as a Business Analyst within a project-based environment (as opposed to just business-as-usual, for instance)
- Experience of having worked on infrastructure projects
- Experience in working with Waterfall project methodology
- Good skills around requirements documentation
- Experience in working with multiple requirements analysis techniques
