We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the not for profit sector on a Fixed-Term contract initially till the end of June, with the likelyhood of the position extending to February next year!

The purpose of the programme is to invest in replacing critical communications capability used by Emergency Services to support and deliver frontline services, underpinning safety, health and wellbeing outcomes for New Zealand.

This position is expected to engage and work with organisational business units, their stakeholders, the programme team and suppliers to ensure that all commercial activities related to the organisation migrating to the network meet desired outcomes.

Knowledge and experience:

  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Proven experience in contract management
  • Minimum of five years hands on procurement experience
  • Experience in developing necessary commercial documentation such as procurement plans, evaluation plans, and statement of requirement, procurement reports and contract management plans.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiating and managing a wide range of contract conditions.
  • Experience within the telecommunications, health or emergency services sectors is desirable

Key Accountabilities:

  • Establish and manage key relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
  • Develop and implement a “best in class” procurement management process for the project
  • Manage all procurement and contract policies, processes and practises, including taking responsibility for updating content
  • Provide specialist advice on procurement and contractual matters, both specific to the project and the organisation in general.
  • Maintain a ‘finger on the pulse’ to understand commercial pressures and drivers within the organisation
