This is a bulk earthworks contractor that services both residential and commercial clients performing a mix land development, roading and specialist projects, The company is relatively small and has a collegial and family orientated type culture. Given the current work profile, the Managing Director is at full capacity and needs the weight of a contracts manager to assist the Managing Director in driving the business forward.

The main focus of the role is to work on new clients including tendering and bidding for new work, running new and existing projects and reporting on the financial performance of the project including all variations and final accounts.

The role will encompass:

  • Tenders
  • Bid for new projects + assoc duties to preparation
  • Improving relations with existing client base
  • Sourcing for new work
  • Negotiation of contracts
  • Contract/project proposals + costs/estimates
  • Preparation of job programmes
  • Overseeing the client and delivery of the project including checking in on site
  • Post contract work including variation review and final accounts

Your background and key skill set encompasses:

  • Ability to review and interpret contract requirements from civil plans to preparing estimates accurately and effectively
  • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar role working on land development and roading, or civil spaces projects from inception/tender to completion
  • A QS or civil engineering qualification is ideal
  • Possess the ability to read, understand and ensure contract specifications and contract requirements are fully implemented
  • Strong commitment to Health & Safety initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience in Financial Reporting including assessing payment claims and variations
  • Strong digital acumen, MS suite, appropriate estimating software and ability to add value to the business
  • Strong risk management and problem-solving skills
  • Great people and team management skills

Remuneration: $120K - $140K + veh + bonus.
