We are looking for a Data Analyst for a short-term contract position based in Wellington, starting 24 July to 29 September. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, collaborating with a team of dedicated professionals.

As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting data to generate valuable insights. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and maintain reporting solutions using R programming. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, gather requirements, and deliver reports that support evidence-based decision making.

What you’ll need to succeed:

• Proven experience as a Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst, Data Scientist, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in R programming and experience with relevant packages (e.g., ggplot2, dplyr, tidyr).
• Solid understanding of statistical concepts and data analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in SQL and data querying.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with complex data sets.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior experience working in a government agency, or a large organization is advantageous.
• Must be a NZ/AUS Citizen, permanent resident or have a valid work visa with no restrictions to be eligible for this role.
