About the Organisation

The organisation is a major, high profile government agency that is based in central city Wellington. They employ around 3,500 people nationwide, and have around 500 people in their head office.

They are a stable organisation - no restructuring going on here! - and they offer great training and career advancement opportunities.

About the role

You will report to the Applications Development Manager, and you will be a member of a team of 10 developers. All of the development work they do is project based, so you will have a chance to work on pieces of work on an end-to-end basis.

The team is a happy, settled one and there is very little staff turnover.

The technical skills that they are wanting to recruit for are:

a)  development experience using APEX5        OR

b) web development skills using HTML5, ECMA Script releases and modern Javascript frameworks such as Angular and React.

NOTE: it is fine if you have one or the other; you do not have to have both. And they will offer you training in the area that you don't have expertise, thus adding to your development knowledge and expertise.

Being a sizeable IT development site, they offer lots of opportunities for career progression in to more senior roles. They also offer extensive formal and informal training opportunities, and any job-related external courses that you might want to do yourself will be paid for.

In addition, they can offer some flexibility around work hours.

What they want to see in your CV:

a)  development experience using APEX5        OR

b) web development skills using HTML5, ECMA Script releases and modern Javascript frameworks such as Angular and React.

The hiring manager is one of the nicest you could hope to find, and makes sure that he provides a positive work environment for you and the rest of the team.

The organisation offers critically important support to New Zealanders as a whole, and if you enjoy the feeling that you are doing a job that will make a positive difference to society - well, look no further!
