Job Description

We are currently recruiting for two temporary opportunities with a large government organisation that plays a vital role in supporting New Zealanders. These positions sit within a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality support services and assessing entitlement applications.

We are seeking professionals who bring either strong client-focused experience or a background in claims assessment and decision-making.

Assignment Details
  • Immediate start (subject to successful security vetting)
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Assignment through to 30 June 2027
  • $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
  • Wellington CBD location, located near the railway station
Opportunity One

This position focuses on working directly with individuals, building trusted relationships, coordinating support services, and helping people access the assistance available to them.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing a caseload and providing ongoing support
  • Assessing individual needs and coordinating appropriate services
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Supporting people through complex situations with professionalism, empathy, and care
Opportunity Two

This position is responsible for assessing applications and supporting information, ensuring eligibility decisions are made accurately and in accordance with relevant legislation and policy.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Reviewing applications and supporting evidence
  • Assessing eligibility against legislative and policy requirements
  • Evaluating medical and supporting documentation
  • Preparing clear written assessments and recommendations
  • Making accurate, consistent, and well-reasoned determinations
About You

For Opportunity One, you may come from a background in:
  • Case management
  • Social services
  • Rehabilitation services
  • Health or community support
  • ACC, MSD, or similar environments
For Opportunity Two, you may have experience in:
  • Claims assessment
  • Insurance
  • ACC
  • Government agencies
  • Regulatory or compliance-based environments
In addition, you will possess:
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Sound judgement and attention to detail
  • An understanding of medical terminology is advantageous
