Purpose of the role:
The Financial Accountant will provide leadership to the Finance Operation staff, and financial expertise and support to SLT. They are responsible for maintaining a high level of accuracy across all financial transactions and ensuring timeliness is achieved. They will ensure that the organization maintains best practice in financial management and reporting. They will also lead continuous improvements of financial processes. Both roles will be expected to learn all aspects of the duties in order to provide cover for leave and maintain business continuity within the team.
Key accountabilities and duties:
- Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable function
- Manage bank relationships, cash flows and investment proposals
- Support Manager Financial Operations in business policies review in relation to sensitive expenditure such as Business, Travel & Expense, Purchase Card and Treasury policies
- Assist Financial Accountant in month end
- Lead process improvements in AR and AP areas
- Lead fortnightly payment runs
- Reporting to Management in relation to debtors and sensitive expenditure
Person Specification:
- Relevant Accounting/Finance tertiary qualification
- Chartered Accountant (or equivalent qualification recognised by CAANZ)
- Previous experience supervising team work flow
- Previous senior financial accounting experience
