Our client is a prominent, mid-sized financial services business, successful in the markets in which they operate, and poised for growth.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee a focused and high-performing team of 4, reporting into the CFO. This position is being recruited as a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover an internal secondment, however the expectation, although not guaranteed, is that there will be good scope for this role to continue thereafter.
The Financial Controller is responsible for leading the finance team and providing end to end accounting, planning, and reporting services that supports the CFO and the wider business. This includes the provision of accurate and timely financial information, ensuring all management, statutory, and regulatory reporting obligations are met. Including month-end delivery with supporting registers, schedules, reconciliations, trial balance which are completed to a high standard and supports financial reporting and successful audit completion. This Financial Controller will also play a key role in the forecasting and planning process, contribute to ad-hoc projects and analysis, and will ensure appropriate accounting policies and procedures are in place.
To be considered for this position, you will ideally be a qualified Accountant (CA, CPA, or equivalent) and have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience. This position will require someone with a significant amount of prior experience working in statutory and regulatory accounting within a banking or insurance environment. You’ll have demonstrated leadership skills in addition to having the interpersonal abilities to build influence at all levels of an organisation.
