Our client a well-established FMCG New Zealand distribution business is looking to hire a Forecast & Planning Category Lead, reporting to the Business Manager of Grocery Relationships.

The main objective for this role is to support the Grocery Sales & Marketing teams by leveraging advanced analytical skills and forecasting expertise to lead the Demand Planning process across Grocery/Snack & Confectionery portfolio.

The role focuses on improving forecast accuracy, identifying actionable insights, and uncovering opportunities for commercial growth.
 
What you will be responsible for:
  • Demand & Forecast Planning – leading demand forecasting across grocery/snacks & confectionary portfolio. Maintain forecast models. Align forecasts with stakeholders through regular meetings to monitor trends. Support S+OP preparation and minutes of meetings. Manager seasonal order planning & stock coordination.
  • Seasonal Planning & Execution- End to end planning & delivery of seasonal events. Manage order gathering from retailers. Monitor shipping timelines. Deliver post-event analysis. Manage the overall execution.
  • Insights & Data Analytics for Category Reviews – manage relationships with data providers (Circana, Nielson, Dunnhumby). Analyse data to identify risks, trends & opportunities. Deliver actionable insights to support retailer & category reviews
  • Reporting & Commercial Support -ensure accurate & timely reporting outputs. Strong stakeholder engagement both across the teams and external partners.

Essential Skills & attributes for the role include:
  • Strong forecasting and data planning experience within FMCG Grocery
  • Commercially savvy – can demonstrate your capability with data driven insights to make commercial recommendations
  • Essential FMCG Grocery/ Sales &/or Supply Chain
  • Tertiary qualified – Commerce, Business or similar
  • Experience working with Advanced Excel, Power BI, CRW/ERP ( NetSuite), Circana, Nielsen.
