As a Head of Pool Consent & Technical Coordinator, you’ll lead the end‑to‑end pool consent process while acting as the key technical liaison across councils, BCAs, consultants, and the client. You’ll oversee documentation quality, ensure compliance with the NZ Building Code, support project delivery, and help clients navigate technical requirements with clarity and confidence.
This role blends technical expertise, regulatory understanding, and people‑centric problem solving. You’ll be the go‑to person for interpreting requirements, coordinating submissions, and ensuring pool projects move smoothly through the consent and compliance pipeline.
The Role
- Pool consent management — Lead and coordinate all pool consent applications from preparation to approval.
- Council liaison — Build strong working relationships with councils and regulatory bodies to streamline processes.
- Technical documentation oversight — Prepare, review, and refine drawings, specifications, and supporting documents.
- Compliance coordination — Ensure all work aligns with NZ Building Code, relevant standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Internal project support — Provide technical guidance
- Customer-facing problem solving — Help clients understand requirements and navigate challenges with confidence.
You might come from one of several backgrounds — what matters most is strong technical coordination capability, excellent documentation skills, and a deep understanding of NZ consenting processes.
Ideal backgrounds include:
- Building consent / BCA support
- Council consenting or compliance coordination
- Building control / regulatory services
- Architectural technician or construction documentation
- Pool, building, or residential compliance consultancy
- Construction project coordination with consent experience
