I have an Executive Search underway for a Head of Safety role based in Auckland.

The organisation is large and complex , with high risk components .T be successful in this role you will need to bring depth of experience providing senior safety leadership, with the ability to demonstrate a high level of sound business/commercial risk astuteness, judgement and decision making, along with the ability to bring new ways of thinking to help lift safety maturity.

The focus will be to move the organisation from a compliance base to a behavioural model,and this will require significant mindset and behaviour change.

This will rquire a contemporary approach driven by a can-do attitude and passion about creating a positive culture, where people feel empowered, capable and set-up for success.

The role requires balancing between leading the safety team, influencing safety strategy direction and being a change innovator, whilst also ensuring foundational safety processes are effective and being hands-on across our diverse operational environments.

At the heart of this role is the ability to influence, coach and empower people at all levels from Senior management to front-line. To be a thought leader in ways that design safety processes with our employees, ensuring simplicity of use for optimal outcomes, and the ability to shift mindsets in an ever-changing workplace.

You will lead a team of regionally based safety professionals, the provision of sound risk advice to the business is essential, along with a focus on revitalising safe systems of work in a contemporary way.

This role works collaboratively and directly with the CEO, executive team, wider company and branch network to lead the Safety function, drive performance improvement and lead change programs through strong employee engagement.
