Are you passionate about building a proactive safety culture and driving continuous improvement? This is a leader in their category and are seeking a dynamic Health & Safety Business Partner to join their team. In this influential role, you will partner with operational and functional leaders to embed effective health, safety, and wellbeing practices across their business. You will provide strategic and operational advice, coaching, and support to empower leaders to take ownership of health and safety outcomes and integrate risk management into everyday decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen visible safety leadership and accountability.
  • Coach and support leaders to manage health and safety risks within their teams.
  • Promote a culture of care, learning, engagement, and personal responsibility.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing practical and commercially balanced health and safety guidance.
  • Facilitate identification, assessment, and management of critical risks.
  • Support implementation and continual improvement of the Health & Safety Management System.
  • Deliver coaching and training programmes to build leadership capability.
  • Lead and support investigations into incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Promote wellbeing initiatives and support rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes.
  • Monitor contractor health and safety performance and support contractor onboarding.
  • Analyse health and safety data, prepare reports, and drive continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Risk Management, Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, quarrying, manufacturing, transport, infrastructure, or heavy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and associated regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with operational leaders.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and risk assessments.
  • Proven coaching and influencing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical, reporting, and problem-solving capability.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred:
  • NZISM professional membership.
  • Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Experience within ACC Accredited Employer environments.
  • Experience supporting multiple operational sites.

Salary: $135K - $150K + vehicle
