We are recruiting for a client operating within the heavy construction and industrial sector. Due to an internal restructure, an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join the business on an initial three-month contract.
This is a hands-on role supporting multiple operational sites and working directly with Site Managers to strengthen safety performance, enhance compliance, and implement critical risk initiatives.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:
- Providing Health & Safety support across multiple operational sites.
- Partnering with Site Managers and operational leaders to improve site safety performance.
- Following up on training requirements and competency management.
- Managing incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
- Assisting with the development and implementation of a Critical Risk Framework.
- Conducting site inspections, audits, and safety reviews.
- Providing practical recommendations to improve safety systems, behaviours, and culture.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and promoting best practice Health & Safety standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven Health & Safety experience within construction, heavy industry, manufacturing, infrastructure, or a related environment.
- Strong knowledge of New Zealand Health & Safety legislation and best practice.
- Experience undertaking incident investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong communication skills.
- Confidence working autonomously across multiple sites and priorities.
- Experience with critical risk management frameworks would be highly advantageous.

- Competitive hourly rate of $100-$125 per hour + GST.
