About the Role
As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting site teams to maintain a positive safety culture and ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing are achieved throughout the project lifecycle.Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, you will gain exposure to all aspects of health and safety management on a complex commercial construction project, providing invaluable experience and development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the project's H&S systems.
- Conducting site inspections, audits and safety observations.
- Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Facilitating toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Monitoring subcontractor compliance and site inductions.
- Supporting risk assessments, task analysis and safe work planning.
- Promoting positive safety behaviours across site teams.
- Preparing H&S reports and maintaining project documentation.
- Assisting with environmental and wellbeing initiatives.
About You
- 3+ years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, civil or related industries.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification or working towards one.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive approach with a genuine passion for safety.
- Ability to engage effectively with site teams, subcontractors and management.
- Good understanding of NZ health and safety legislation.
- Strong organisational and reporting skills.
- Full NZ Driver Licence.
