As part of the Team

Work as part of a team who build, maintain, support and lifecycle one of New Zealand’s largest Windows server deployments.

  • Resolution of incidents relating to Windows servers and related technologies.
  • Planning and execution of low-impact platform maintenance including security patching.
  • Reduction of high severity incidents though well planned change management.
  • Reduction of recurring incidents through prioritised problem management.
  • Ensuring compliance to ANZ security and operational standards.
  • Improving the success of GWPM through successful ownership of patching and management tool updates.
  • Extended support to the other teams as required (including project deployment, engineering, design and architecture).
  • Project participation as required.
  • Other ad-hoc support required of a L3 Wintel support team.
  • Provide technical subject matter expert capability for various Microsoft technologies
  • Opportunity to upskill and learn as we adopt new technologies and processes

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • System Centre (SCOM, SCCM, SCORCH), Exchange on premises and online, Sharepoint, IIS, PKI, failover clustering, HPC, HPE hardware and networking, Networking protocols and topologies
  • Certification – MCSA, MCSE
  • ITIL qualification
  • Strong automation and scripting experience (Powershell, System Centre Orchestrator, Chef)
  • Knowledge and senior experience maintaining large-scale best-practice platform configurations.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to cover Lead Engineer functions delegated during absences (stakeholder management, reporting, etc).
  • Ability to deliver outcomes and meet targets in a technically competitive environment.
  • Experience in disaster recovery procedures and testing at an enterprise level.
  • Experience as a technical support resource in a large enterprise environment (>1,000 servers).

 

Note: Must be eligible to work full-time in New Zealand.
