About the role:

As the Manager, Assets & Support you will strategically have an overview and oversight of a portfolio of property assets to ensure optimal long-term performance, including a managed asset renewal programme that is managed in a cohesive way, with a 10 year forward view. You will provide leadership to a team that will lead the overall strategy for the core infrastructure assets, including overseeing capex development and ongoing asset maintenance. This will include having line of sight across existing properties that need asset and facility renewals including technical security investment. 

 Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the oversight and implementation of a strategic asset renewal property plan
  • Sourcing, negotiating, and reviewing centralised contracts specific to security, cleaning, air conditioning, and other property services.
  • Supporting the landlord responsibilities and leadership functions of major sites in Christchurch and Wellington
  • Undertaking a leadership role with our Asset and Facilities provider
  • Establishing and implementing management systems and ensuring the completion of assigned goals and objectives.
  • Delivering on business unit and team goals/outcomes within agreed time frames and quality standards
  • Fostering a high level of functional and technical expertise within the business unit
  • Contributing to the development of wider business unit strategies and plans (providing input on team priorities and context)
  • Managing relationships and providing trusted advice and services to the judiciary and stakeholders and contributing to the provision of trusted advice to the Minister

You will bring to this role:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience and a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development
  • The ability to build and maintain a range of effective business relationships within an organisation and a wide network of professional relationships across organisations
  • The ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical, building plans and other business information
  • Well-developed procurement and negotiation skills
  • Proven facilities management experience in a complex multi stakeholder environment using structured practices
  • Experience providing leadership across and within organisations, including experience mentoring and developing employees
  • A strong ability to think analytically and strategically, and to execute tasks tactically
