About The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Platform & Operations leader to drive the performance, reliability, and evolution of a large-scale enterprise data platform.
This is a senior leadership role where you’ll shape engineering practices, lead high-performing teams, and ensure platforms deliver secure, scalable, and reliable services that support critical decision-making across a complex organisation.
What You'll be Doing
- Define and lead the platform-wide DevOps strategy, including standards, tooling, and adoption of CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure-as-code
- Own platform reliability, availability, and performance, establishing and enforcing SLA/SLO frameworks across all services
- Lead incident, problem, and change management, ensuring root cause resolution and continuous improvement of service stability
- Establish and drive engineering standards, tooling, and best practices, ensuring consistency across platform and delivery teams
- Build and enhance observability capabilities (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) to enable proactive, data-driven operations
- Lead and develop high-performing teams of Data, Test, and DevOps Engineers, including workforce planning, coaching, and capability uplift
- Ensure delivery teams meet operational readiness and accountability standards, driving adoption of DevOps, SRE, and modern engineering practices
- Own platform cost management and FinOps practices, including budgeting, optimisation, and providing financial and performance insights to stakeholders
What You'll Bring
- Extensive experience (15+ years) in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud operations within complex enterprise environments
- Proven track record leading enterprise-scale platform or engineering functions, with ownership of service performance and operational outcomes
- Strong expertise in modern DevOps, SRE, and ITSM practices, with the ability to embed these at scale
- Deep experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS, Kubernetes) and modern engineering tooling
- Demonstrated ability to define, enforce, and uplift engineering standards and ways of working across multiple teams
- Experience leading, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams, including workforce planning and capability development
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing and partnering at senior leadership level
- Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices, including budgeting, optimisation, and cost transparency
- Exposure to or experience with large-scale data platforms, pipelines, or analytics environments
- Background in complex or regulated environments and/or leading platform or DevOps transformation initiatives
