  • Own platform reliability, availability, and performance, establishing and enforcing SLA/SLO frameworks across all services
  • Lead incident, problem, and change management, ensuring root cause resolution and continuous improvement of service stability
  • Establish and drive engineering standards, tooling, and best practices, ensuring consistency across platform and delivery teams
  • Build and enhance observability capabilities (logging, metrics, tracing, alerting) to enable proactive, data-driven operations
  • Lead and develop high-performing teams of Data, Test, and DevOps Engineers, including workforce planning, coaching, and capability uplift
  • Ensure delivery teams meet operational readiness and accountability standards, driving adoption of DevOps, SRE, and modern engineering practices
  • Own platform cost management and FinOps practices, including budgeting, optimisation, and providing financial and performance insights to stakeholders

What You'll Bring
  • Extensive experience (15+ years)  in platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud operations within complex enterprise environments
  • Proven track record leading enterprise-scale platform or engineering functions, with ownership of service performance and operational outcomes
  • Strong expertise in modern DevOps, SRE, and ITSM practices, with the ability to embed these at scale
  • Deep experience with cloud platforms and technologies (e.g. Azure, AWS, Kubernetes) and modern engineering tooling
  • Demonstrated ability to define, enforce, and uplift engineering standards and ways of working across multiple teams
  • Experience leading, mentoring, and growing high-performing engineering teams, including workforce planning and capability development
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience influencing and partnering at senior leadership level
  • Experience with cloud cost management and FinOps practices, including budgeting, optimisation, and cost transparency
  • Exposure to or experience with large-scale data platforms, pipelines, or analytics environments
  • Background in complex or regulated environments and/or leading platform or DevOps transformation initiatives

Why Apply?
  • Wellington based with WFH flexibility
  • Lead a high-impact platform function in a complex, modern enterprise environment
  • Build and work with high-performing, multidisciplinary teams
