The Company
Our client is a national retail brand, headquartered in an accessible location on Auckland’s North Shore. Following a transition to a new ERP and continued focus on data governance, they’re looking for a Senior Master Data Specialist to provide hands-on delivery across supplier, product, pricing and master data, while also helping coordinate BAU priorities and acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
This is a role for someone who is highly analytical, thrives on problem-solving, and takes real pride in clean, reliable master data.
Key responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Maintain product, supplier and pricing master data
- Coordinate day-to-day Data Team workload (no direct reports)
- Investigate and resolve data issues, identifying root causes
- Maintain data standards, business rules and documentation
- Partner with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure data accuracy
- Review and validate product and pricing changes
- Manage and prioritise MDM tickets and system enhancements
- Support testing and continuous improvement initiatives
About you
You'll bring experience across some of the following:
- 3+ years' experience in product, supplier, pricing or master data
- Experience in retail, FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environments
- Knowledge of master data management and data governance
- Experience with ERP systems
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A continuous improvement mindset with strong attention to detail
