We are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to lead a Customer Operations team. Based in Wellington and reporting to the GM Learning Solutions, you'll provide leadership to a team primarily located in Hamilton, delivering high-quality customer and learner administration services and fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.

 

About the Role

This position sits above the day-to-day customer service function and focuses on leading people, performance, reporting, process improvement, and operational effectiveness.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a customer operations team across multiple locations

  • Build strong relationships with senior leaders, managers, and key stakeholders across the business

  • Use operational data and performance metrics to identify trends, generate reports, inform decision-making, and drive improvement initiatives

  • Lead operational improvement initiatives and embed more effective ways of working

  • Support organisational change and help teams successfully navigate new priorities and processes

  • Fortnightly travel to Hamilton; strengthen culture and accountability with your team in person

About You

We're looking for a people leader with strong operational management experience, preferably in a customer service context.

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in people management

  • Proven success managing operational or service-based teams

  • Relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to influence, motivate, and uplift team members

  • Proficiency working with large data sets, operational reporting, and performance insights

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 skills

  • Experience leading process improvement, business change, or transformation initiatives
