About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to join a well-established manufacturing business based in South Auckland.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and compliant payroll services across both New Zealand and Australia. This is a hands-on, end-to-end payroll position suited to someone who enjoys ownership of the payroll process and providing excellent internal customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly, monthly, and ad hoc payrolls
- Review and validate timesheets, leave applications, and payroll data
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records
- Manage new starter, variation, and termination processing
- Complete IRD and ATO payroll filings and payments
- Support New Zealand and Australian payroll administration and compliance requirements
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and managers
- Assist with audits and year-end reconciliations
- Identify and implement payroll process improvements
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- At least 3 years' payroll experience within New Zealand
- Solid understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Exposure to Australian payroll processes is advantageous, but full training will be provided
- Experience with PayGlobal or a similar payroll system
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- A customer-focused approach and confident communication skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
