About the company:
You’ll be joining an iconic, stable and well-established New Zealand born company based in the Auckland CBD.

About the role:
You will have overall responsibility (sole-charge) for managing the payroll for 700+ employees and will be part of a dynamic, supportive and fun finance team which is hard working with a mix of vibrant and bubbly personalities. My client values a strong team working environment so it is 4 days in the office and 1-day WFH. As well as maintaining all payroll data and processing the payroll, you will play a key role in producing payroll financial and operational reports as required, including salary wage movements and ranges, Kiwisaver uptake, leave balances and advising the company of legislation changes that affect payroll and employee contracts.

Duties:
  • Enter new and maintain existing personal data for employees and ensure accuracy. 
  • Collate & process department fortnightly wages & monthly wages.
  • Ensuring strict control procedures are adhered to.
  • Manage and deliver on all activities within the payroll function.
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and on time.
  • Maintain and ensure the security of all employee payroll records.
  • Complete payroll reporting and analysis.

Skills & experience:
  • Prior experience in a similar sole charge payroll position.
  • Experienced running payroll for 500+ employees.
  • Ability to plan and organise your own day.
  • Ability to balance conflicting demands.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and build effective working relationships.
