Our client is a New Zealand’s largest privately owned, non-franchised company of its kind. They were established over 10 decades ago, the business has grown into a well-known brand nationally. They are now are looking for a sole-charge Payroll Officer for the management of the payroll function for their 2500 employees nationally.

Key accountabilities:

  • Prepare and process weekly, monthly and ad hoc pay runs for both salaried and hourly paid staff across the nation
  • Ensure that employee records are correct and up-to-date
  • Interpret and apply contractual conditions and legal requirements e.g. The Holidays Act, in relation to pay rates, allowances, penalty rates and disability allowances
  • Arrange disbursement of deductions

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience doing Sole-charge payroll for an organisation
  • Proven experience and understanding of the legalities of Payroll
  • Experience of Data Pay would be preferable but not essential
  • Good verbal and written communication, including the ability to communicate technically with regards to payroll
  • Able to use discretion and work unsupervised
