Join a true national treasure, an organisation with a proud legacy, a clear sense of purpose, and a meaningful impact on communities across Aotearoa.
Reporting to the Chief People Officer and working within a collaborative People & Culture team, you'll partner with senior leaders to shape organisational performance, leadership capability, workforce planning and employee experience.
About the role
Supporting a large and diverse portfolio of more than 350 employees across multiple business functions, this role provides broad exposure to all aspects of contemporary people practice. As a trusted advisor to senior leaders, you will:
• Partner with leaders to deliver strategic people initiatives and workforce plans.
• Coach and develop leaders to build capability, confidence and performance.
• Provide expert advice on complex employment relations and people matters.
• Support organisational change and transformation initiatives.
• Contribute to workforce capability planning and organisational effectiveness.
• Support remuneration, policy development, job evaluation and workforce planning activities.
• Provide guidance on recruitment, talent acquisition and succession planning.
• Use workforce data and insights to support informed decision-making.
• Champion a people-centred, inclusive and high-performing culture.
This is a broad and influential position requiring someone who can move comfortably between strategic partnership and hands-on delivery.
What we're looking for
We are seeking an experienced HR practitioner with broad and deep expertise across the full employee lifecycle.
You will bring:
• Significant experience in senior HR, People & Culture or Business Partnering roles.
• Strong employment relations and people advisory expertise.
• A proven ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
• A commercial mindset and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
• Demonstrated success coaching and developing leaders.
• Experience supporting organisational change and navigating complexity.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to balance organisational objectives with positive people outcomes.
• Sound judgement, credibility and resilience.
You'll be someone who enjoys partnering with leaders, building capability and helping organisations achieve their goals through their people.
Importantly, you'll bring the maturity and leadership capability to provide broader People leadership support when required.
What sets this opportunity apart
This is a rare opportunity to work within a values-led organisation where people, culture and leadership are genuinely recognised as critical to organisational success.
You'll join a supportive and collaborative team, work with experienced leaders and have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to organisational performance, employee experience and culture.
The role offers significant scope, variety and influence, making it ideal for a senior HR professional looking to further develop their strategic partnering capability while remaining close to the business.
