An organisation that has provided significant support to essential services, our client has operated in the manufacturing industry for over 50 years and counting. Due to the nature of the business and newly created growth strategies, they are now on the hunt to find an experienced Production Planning Manager in this newly created role to manage the end-to-end production and planning operations within their Auckland premises.

The Role:

Directly reporting into the General Manager, this role provides a seat on the senior leadership team with regards to production operations, production planning and health and safety improvements. With a strong focus on customer satisfaction, the role is responsible for ensuring needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Supporting the wider business strategy, this role is responsible for ensuring the engine room of this 24/7 manufacturing operation always runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities In This Position Includes:

  • People management of 3 direct reports (30+ indirect)
  • Strong continuous improvement focus using LEAN principles
  • Implementing strategies to ensure improvements in service quality and lead time
  • Ensure policies and procedures are followed as per compliance requirements
  • Maintaining & improving the MRP system

About You:

You will have 5+ years of management experience within the mined mineral or manufacturing industry and know how to effectively manage people in a fast-paced environment to achieve the best results. Being able to relate to the floor and senior leadership alike, your communication skills set you apart from the rest. Project management of both financial and health and safety initiatives will be key skills in your toolbox, and you will be able to demonstrate past successful outcomes.
