Great fun team, go-ahead professional environment!

  • based in super-cool, NZ owned-company IT software consultancy with great fun vibe
  • well established and highly successful company with great track record
  • high energy, team focused environment

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

The organisation is a private sector, New Zealand-owned IT software consultancy. They have 65 employees and their offices are in central Wellington, very close to the railway station.

They are well established and highly successful business. They also have a strong commitment to ensuring they offer a happy, positive and enjoyable workplace and a great team to work with. The turnover of staff is extremely low, and when they recruit it is to grow the team, rather than to replace people who are leaving.

WHAT THE JOB IS ABOUT:

Working for a small group of Project Managers - some of the smartest and nicest you could hope to meet, by the way - you will be carrying out a full range of project support, project administration, project reporting and project monitoring.

They are definitely keen to find someone who is super well-organised and with bags of energy and initiative. They want you to be able to come in and, once you have got your head around the role, be able to suggest improvements and better ways of doing things.

In terms of specific tools, they use Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project. You do NOT need to be a whiz, but you do need to know how to use these tools on a day-to-day basis.

The work will include:

  • Running Scrums
  • Using MS Project to track project progress
  • Project budget tracking and monitoring using Excel spreadsheets
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status of projects
  • Managing the work request process
  • Budget tracking and collation for the programme of work
  • Taking minutes and preparing action plans of project meetings
  • Managing risk and issues registers
  • Improving existing business processes
  • contributing to the preparation of Request for Proposal documents

and just about anything else you can think of! They definitely see this as a role where someone can grow and develop their skills over time, and where they can be given more responsibility as they acquire more familiarity and confidence.

It is important that you have worked in a project support/project administrator type role in the past, and that you are comfortable working in busy environment where there is a lot going on at any one time.

As mentioned, you will have the chance to work for one of the nicest programme managers around. You will also have the chance to grow with the job and take on more responsibility as you become more confident.

As a personality, you will be positive, proactive, highly organised and self-managing. A 'can do' attitude is a must.

IT'S FINE if you need to give notice to your current employer. PLEASE NOTE that you DO need to be living in the Wellington region right now in order to apply AND you must be a NZ Resident or NZ citizen OR hold a valid NZ Work Visa!
