This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Director who has proven skills with managing the full lifecycle of projects from development through to project delivery. This a progressive consultancy that represents clients for both development management and client-side project delivery services across a range of sectors, some including industrial, retail, supermarket brands, major refurbishments and commercial office/mixed use projects. Some clients are well known NZX Listed.
The Role
This role has an opportunity to progressively transition into a GM role overseeing a team and leading business growth. The role will be highly visible with steering and providing direction to a team and their growth, managing a divisional budget, resolving issues proactively and offering convincing technical solutions to a range of stakeholders.
The role will encompass:
- Some feasibility studies for client development projects
- Be key in being able to offer strategic and technical advisory to clients.
- Design coordination and planning with their internal team.
- Managing the process in obtaining all necessary planning and resource consents through council
- Project planning and ensure all projects align with stakeholder priorities.
- Tender management and procurement
- Projects financial performance management and budgeting
- Risk management
- Internal budget management
- Identifying new business opportunities and networking
- Managing a team of project managers, leading and ensuring their development
- Managing multiple projects through construction delivery and overseeing contractor performance
Your Background
The key background for this role will require:
- Tertiary qualifications in construction/project management/architecture
- A demonstratable level of experience, at least 15+ years of experience within client representation, preferably from consultancy in both development and project management on commercial projects
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, both internal and external.
- Well organised ensuring all project deadlines and milestones are achieved to the required standards and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of the RMA and consenting process, the NZ Building Code; Construction Contracts – NZ3910 and 3916 with previous experience acting as Engineer to Contract
- A comprehensive understanding of reviewing design documentation
- Able to lead meetings, manage and build project teams.
- Excellent ability to work with Project Management software.
