Our client is a large government entity, fundamental to the lives of Aucklanders.

Dur to the size and complexity of the organisation and the resulting diversity of stakeholder groups, an opportunity has become available for an experienced Project Manager to play a lead role in the co-ordination and delivery of the annual and 10-year budget process. This role is being recruited as a 1-year fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

This position functionally sits under the guidance of the finance team and will follow established consultation processes, adhering to tight deadlines, providing information and co-ordinating responses.

The role of the Project Manager is to plan, execute and finalise processes that support the development and production of financial planning and reporting documents. The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing particular workstreams that support the overall financial planning programme and organising, monitoring and assisting others to achieve the deliverables within those workstreams. The incumbent will work closely with and support the Programme Manager in order to deliver projects according to plan.

Key requirements of the role will include:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and administration
  • Certified in either PMP, Prince 2 or equivalent industry recognised project management professional qualification
  • Demonstrated written skills
  • Demonstrated use of project management tools
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft products

Key to your success in this role will be your ability to foster and maintain engagement with a wide and often interesting range of stakeholders, sometimes with competing aims and priorities, keeping people on track towards deadlines and project milestones.
