Our client is a high-profile, large-scale, multi-national organisation, a pre-eminent performer in the logistics and supply chain sectors.
An opportunity is currently available within the central operations team for an experienced Project Manager to undertake a varied role for an initial period of 6 months with some scope beyond that.
In general terms, this position will provide support to the Ground Operations teams throughout New Zealand, focusing on improving operational process / procedures and compliance to GSOP. The role will also take the lead on local and regional projects & system updates where required to enhance compliance to process & procedures. Additionally, duties will involve the facilitation of performance improvement initiatives to enhance productivity levels and to ensure staff are up skilled in the process.
A key component of the role will focus on real estate and location strategy with a number of leases up for renewal and the business looking to assess and position growth across the country over the next 5-10 years.
Duties will involve:
- Deliver new and enhanced processes to the evolving business needs
- Manage the operations processes on an ad-hoc basis, perform GEMBA walks, identify root causes and initiate corrective action steps where appropriate
- Develop and deliver improvement initiatives at facility level to achieve facility health card performance KPI’s
- Plan and implement regional / country operations improvement processes and procedures at facility level
- Operations Training Deployment
- Spport the training requirements within operations focusing on performance improvement initiatives. Develop process specific training packs
- Maintain and improve skill set of operations staff through task evaluations in-conjunction with operations staff
- Provide and deliver GSOP, process and system support/training to continually improve service quality performance
This would represent a great opportunity for an experienced project management professional, ideally with some background in, or exposure to, corporate property strategy, and/or experience within the logistics, supply chain or related sectors, to join a dynamic, tier-1 organisation in a role delivering tangible outcomes.
