An innovative main contractor has secured several wins from tendered work and also from existing clients. They deliver jobs $10M - $70M and cover new builds commercial such as low/medium rise apartments, office blocks, warehousing, major refurbishments, major reclads, education, retirement villages, and sports facilities. They focus on getting the right people aboard and creating a collaborative and open team culture. They employ their own labour allowing more control.
They are now looking for a hands on project manager that has ideally come from a trade background that can run a challenging new build project at $30M and with needed focus to bring it back on programme.
In particular, what this contractor are looking for:
- 10+ years commercial construction experience starting from ground up working on commercial sites through to SM and now PM ($10M - $20M projects at least)
- Some structures experience in commercial construction (Insitu concrete, precast concrete, structural steel, craneage, shore-loading/propping, scaffold systems, etc)
- Ideally some civils experience in commercial construction (Bulk earthworks, cut & fill, retaining, piling, in ground services, site works) but not essential
- Planning experience in commercial construction (MS Project) and advanced skills in ensuring programme is being kept on track
- Strong ability to oversee site activities as well as oversee subcontractor issues if neccesary, including resolving site issues and keeping the project moving forward
- Experience in motivating and leading site managers, carpentry tea inclusive of leading hand, carpenters, labourers
- Experience in assessing and managing HSE on a commercial construction project
- Strong project financial management skills
Salary: $160K - $180K + a vehicle
