This is a property development company with their own construction arm, they fly under the radar but build high end and large multi residential builds $50M - $100M. This opportunity would provide you with the chance to work on significant builds and work within a small but experienced commercial team with a high degree of learning involved.
The role is to develop, maintain and control budgets for two significant high end apartment projects based in Parnell and Remuera. This developer are looking for a QS with strong sub contractor management skills and can achieve best returns.
The Role:

Analysis of contractual documents, budgets, estimates and subcontractor quotations

Review of contract terms and conditions ensuring contractual adherence and protection of risk

Negotiating favourable outcomes with clients, subcontractors and suppliers

Risk management and problem solving
-
Assessing payment claims and variations
-
Measuring, estimating and valuing variation claims

Establishing rates from first principles
-
Compiling and submission of variation claims
-
Monthly cost reporting and accurate cost forecasting

Managing relationships with clients and key project stakeholders
Your background:
-
At least 4 years experience working in a main contractor
-
Tertiary qualified in quantity surveying
-
Broad experience in Contract Administration and Estimating functions, experience working with Developers would be advantageous

Strong attention to detail, self-motivated and a high willingness to learn
-
Ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues, contractors, consultants and clients
Remuneration: $90K - $140K pending experience.
