Opportunity for an ER Specialist to join a great team in a large organisation based in Hamilton- you can travel in from Auckland, Waikato or Bay of Plenty locations. Good flexibility and work from home options.

This position works closely with the People Services Manager on employment relationship matters, including employment investigation processes and services. It is intended to provide dedicated investigation support leading to faster and potentially better outcomes for the individuals, their representatives and our business through prompt resolution. Will be required to work across regional boundaries to support this activity nationally where required.

The role accountabilities include:

  • Focussed on supporting employment investigations as required, either in region or across regional boundaries
  • Plans, prepares for and supports investigations and disciplinary processes in line with departmental process
  • Works with the National Office team in supporting the development of processes, documents and materials required
  • Prepares and presents documentation informing decision makers of outcomes of employment investigations where required
  • Works with unions and other employee representatives’ part of the employment investigation process
  • Ensures that employment investigations and disciplinary processes are conducted in a fair and equitable manner
  • Deals with the staff member under investigation in accordance with the organisation values
  • Appears at mediation, as required
  • Coaches and supports managers

This role requires sound knowledge of employment law and other relevant legislation as well as employment relationship problem processes and investigations. Will also require experience in managing a range of investigations relating to performance management, disadvantage, misconduct and senior misconduct.
