My client has a proud history of delivering outstanding service and is a respected supplier of fuel and lubricants to a large and diverse customer base. They are currently seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead their sales team.
As the Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth and maintaining the existing customer base while expanding into new markets. Your primary responsibility will be to manage a team of Territory Managers, ensuring they meet performance objectives and contribute to the company's strategic goals. You will be given scope to evoke change and to ensure the business remains nimble, so your structured approach to this role needs to be with a modern and progressive attitude. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will also be expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

Management:
  • Lead and guide the team of Territory Managers to achieve business targets.
  • Develop and monitor performance against strategic growth plans in alignment with the broader management team.
  • Foster a cohesive, collaborative, and positive team environment.
  • Provide customer service for complex queries and oversee team training.
  • Implement and manage Salesforce CRM system for the sales team. (essential)
  • Collaborate with the wider management team to identify network gaps and manage new site implementations.
  • Communicate sales team strategy and requirements to other business support functions.
  • Participate in business improvement projects, overall strategic positive change.

Budgets:
  • Develop, present, and monitor capital expenditure budgets in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Implement annual team expenditure budget.
  • Promote a financially responsible team culture.
  • Ensure capital expenditure proposals meet agreed business return on capital employed before approval.
  • Focus on customer profitability and collaborate with the finance team on pricing strategies.


Health and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety Policies.
  • Contribute to the implementation of health and safety programs within the sales team.
  • Manage existing relationships alongside the wider team to meet shared business targets.

Required skills/experience:
  • Proven experience in sales management and leadership.
  • Strong strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Familiarity with CRM system Salesforce.
  • Financial acumen and budget management experience.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety regulations and policies.
