We are currently recruiting for an experienced SAP Lead Payroll Specialist to join a team in a large, private organisation based in Wellington CBD.

The successful candidate will be leading and assisting this team with a range of tasks:

  • Support, organise and prioritise fortnightly Payrolls, plan payroll requirements in advance
  • Cast a critical Holidays Act lens across all scenarios in Payroll and Data Maintenance
  • Lead annual upload processes (such as remuneration increases, internet concessions etc)
  • Conduct month, half year and year-end processes in collaboration with the Finance team
  • Prepare and post General Ledger entries after each pay run ensuring accuracy, maintain GL mapping and performance updates as required
  • Maintain employee master data records and ensure integrity of the payroll systems data by idenifying data discrepanies and pursuing resolution
  • Produce regular and ad hoc reports via Spinifex and SAP
  • Provide expertise across payroll systems changes, configuration and decision making
  • Develop and maintain payroll process maps and standard operating procedures as required
  • Develop and maintain payroll information and guidelines on the Intranet
  • Maitain documentation, user guides and provide training to new users
  • Leadership of requirements gathering and design phases of payroll configuration requests
  • Test leadership; expertise in analysing configuration change impacts, meticulously planning the test approach and identifying go live actions and communications

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • 7-10 years experience in a senior New Zealand Payroll position
  • End-to-end Payroll experience, with extensive knowledge of NZ employment and payroll related legislation
  • Understanding of accounting practices, Payroll journals and reconciliations
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience using SAP; including problem shooting, report writing
  • Experience in SAP is non-negotiable, experience in Spinifex IT (desirable)
  • Intermediate user of MS Office applications
