To support their current growth, they arere looking to appoint a Senior Accountant into their delivery team. This is a role focused on technical excellence, quality output, and supporting others, without the pressure of owning a client portfolio.
 

The Role

This is a hands-on Senior Accountant position working across a pooled workflow, delivering high-quality compliance and advisory support across a varied client base.

You’ll be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns, while working closely with managers and partners to ensure smooth delivery of client work. There’s a strong emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement, along with the opportunity to coach and support junior staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
  • Complete income tax returns across a variety of entities
  • Manage GST, RWT, and FBT returns and reconciliations
  • Undertake detailed analysis, variance reviews, and problem-solving
  • Liaise with clients, IRD, and external stakeholders as required
  • Support workflow delivery within the wider accounting team
  • Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior accountants
  • Contribute to process improvements and best practice use of systems


About You

You’ll be an experienced, qualified Accountant, coming from a public practice or professional services background.

  • CA/CPA qualified (or nearing completion)
  • Strong grounding in NZ tax and compliance obligations
  • Proven experience preparing financial statements and returns
  • Confident working across multiple clients and deadlines
  • Comfortable communicating technical information in a practical way
  • Systems-savvy (Xero essential; experience with tools like FYI or iFirm beneficial)
  • A team player who enjoys supporting others and contributing to a positive culture
