I’m looking for an experienced Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer for a long-term opportunity with a large New Zealand organisation continuing to evolve and modernise its cloud environment.
This is a senior, hands-on technical role where you’ll work across a broad Microsoft cloud ecosystem, helping ensure cloud platforms are secure, reliable, automated and well managed. You’ll also have the opportunity to influence technical direction, improve engineering practices and contribute to the ongoing development of the organisation’s cloud capability.
The environment spans Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Purview and Azure Databricks, so I’m particularly interested in people who have worked across complex enterprise Microsoft environments and are comfortable operating across cloud engineering, identity, security, automation and platform operations.
While you’ll bring strong technical depth, this isn’t purely a delivery role. You’ll work closely with security, architecture and operational teams, contribute to technical standards and future platform direction, and provide guidance to other engineers.
What I’m looking for:
- Strong experience across Azure and Microsoft 365 in complex enterprise environments
- Good depth in Entra ID, identity and access management, and cloud security
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability
- Experience with Terraform / Infrastructure as Code and modern DevOps practices
- An understanding of cloud governance, compliance and information protection
- Experience supporting and continually improving enterprise cloud platforms
- The ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve platform reliability
- Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering, security, architecture and business teams
