We are partnering with a large, complex public‑sector organisation responsible for one of New Zealand’s most diverse and critical property portfolios. Spanning specialist operational facilities and office environments that support frontline services, this organisation plays a vital role in communities across Aotearoa.
As a major national facilities management contract approaches a key milestone in 2028, they are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Contract Manager / Commercial Manager to lead a comprehensive review of current arrangements and shape the future direction of FM service delivery.
This is a senior, portfolio‑level role offering genuine strategic influence rather than day‑to‑day operational FM.
This position focuses on commercial leadership, contract strategy, and future‑state planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a full review of the national FM contract (expiry 2028)
- Assessing supplier performance, service delivery, pricing, risk, and value
- Developing recommendations on renewal, renegotiation, restructuring, or re‑tendering
- Engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders across complex environments
- Providing commercial and strategic advice to property, finance, and executive leaders
- Shaping scope, requirements, and approach for future FM procurement
- Embedding strong, consistent contract management practices across the portfolio
You’re a senior facilities, property, or commercial contract professional who can bridge operational realities with commercial strategy.
You will bring:
- Extensive experience across facilities management, property, engineering, or asset‑intensive environments
- Strong contract management and procurement expertise (SLAs, KPIs, performance frameworks)
- Proven ability to analyse FM contracts, cost models, and operational risk
- Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
- Ability to interpret technical building, commercial, and financial information
- Experience working across large, multi‑site or national property portfolios
- Influence one of the most significant FM contracts in the public sector
- Portfolio‑level impact across the entire country
