My client is looking for an Senior Financial Accountant to join the team to provide monthly financial reports.  You will be supporting the CFO by providing sound external reporting services and to ensure that all financial compliance obligations are met.  You will be working closely with the business to ensure timely and accurate accounting and reporting requirements are met.

Key responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Monthly financial reports for the Board are prepared on a timely basis.
  • Production of statutory financial accounts and regulatory reports covering both financial and non-financial information.
  • Contribute to financial and business commentary for monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Co-ordinate with external auditors in the completion of the audit of the statutory financial accounts.

Management Reporting:

  • Contribute to the production of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee and the People and Culture Committee related papers.
  • Budgeting and forecasting process.

End of month processing:

  • Ensure all end of month processes are completed/achieved.
    Prepare/Review General Ledger Reconciliations.
    Responsibility for the fixed asset register, including recording all asset movements.

Payroll:

  • Review fortnightly payroll.
  • Act as back up for payroll processing as required.
  • Treasury and Cash flow.
  • Review and approve the cash flow forecast.


You should have the following qualifications, skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience and minimum of a tertiary level accountancy qualification, with provisional or full Chartered Accountancy qualification preferred.
  • Experience working with integrated mid-tier financial systems (e.g. NetSuite) with exposure to  general  ledger, purchasing, receivables, payables and fixed assets modules.
  • Ability to lead month end reporting cycles.
  • Have a general working knowledge of IFRS and public sector reporting requirements.
  • General understanding of payroll processes and relevant legislation.
